Lucie's Cornwall started in the Summer of 2021. I was suffering with my mental health having been through a traumatic time and as a coping mechanism each evening I'd go for a long walk with my mum along the coastline to take some time away from being online. One evening we discovered a beautiful little cove and it was so special I remember saying to my mum that I wished I could have a separate account where I could share pictures of the Cornish countryside, nature, wildlife and my personal interests, somewhere that would reflect more of who I am as a person. At first I was worried that there wouldn't be much interest in this different side to me, but I was amazed and, of course very grateful, as to how many people actually supported the idea. Since then Lucie's Cornwall has grown in followers and I love that my audience engage with the account in such a positive and kind way.
Lucie’s Cornwall is currently a private instagram account and the reason for this is because I needed to create a safe space for myself and my followers. Lucie's Cornwall is my sanctuary, my passion and somewhere I can share my quirky ideas, my love of upcycling, antiques and my Cornish Cottage renovation. It's also somewhere I like to support and recommend local businesses and charities that I think provide a great service or carry out amazing work within the community. I wanted the account to be a place where like minded people can share tips, advice, memories and ask questions or just have the freedom to show their appreciation for the beautiful county of Cornwall.
